Artspace Outside View

The "Faces of Katrina" is an art exhibit, presented by the KatrinaRita Gras Foundation and the Shreveport Regional Arts Council, which chronicles the stories and the emotions of those who experienced Katrina and Rita first-hand. More than 100 evacuees were photographed and their stories recorded for this project by award winning author, illustrator and filmmaker William Joyce. The exhibit debuted in Shreveport, Louisiana on August 26th, 2006, almost a full year after the storm, and now is presented online to the world.

The Online Exhibit presents an html version of the entire "Faces of Katrina" exhibition. Through your browser window, you can learn about the tradegy, read the stories from survivors, and look into the eyes of those affected by Katrina.

The faces of "Faces of Katrina" is a list of all those who allowed their photographs to be taken and their stories told for this exhibit.

The Photographers section presents each of the people behind the camera for this project.

The People Behind the Faces lists those who made this exhibit possible, including the staff, contributers, and donors who put their work and money into this project.

Finally, the Katrinarita Gras Foundation is a non-profit organization created to help Louisiana artists and arts organizations hurt by Katrina.
